African wild dogs

Also referred to as the painted dog, the African wild dog is a wild canine species endemic to Sub-Saharan Africa. Famous for their large bat-like ears and colourful, patchy coat, which is said to be unique like human fingerprints, making individuals easy to identify. They are the most successful predator, running as fast as 41mph and working in teams which results in 80% of their hunts ending successfully. These colourful canines are threatened by habitat loss due to agricultural expansion and increasing human-wildlife conflicts.
