The lion is a large cat native to Sub-Saharan Africa. They are sexually dimorphic as males are larger than females and have more prominent manes. Lions mosty hunt at night as they are well adapted to seeing in the dark, giving them a huge advantage over their prey. They are apex predators, meaning that they have almost no predators. These magnificent beasts are threatened by illegal poaching and hunting, habitat destruction and the human-wildlife conflict.
