White-backed vulture

Found in Sub-Saharan Africa, the White Backed Vulture is the most common vulture on the African continent. These vultures are very sociable birds, gathering in large groups to feast on the remains of dead animals. They can fly as high as 10,000 feet, allowing them to easily find food sources. They are threatened by illegal poaching for meat and traditional medicine, as well as habitat destruction due to agricultural expansion.
